5. a pit to trap animals (2 Sam. 23:20)
6. a pit for holding prisoners (Gen. 37:22; 41:14; 2 Kgs. 10:14; Jer. 38:6; 37:16; Zech. 9:11)
7. a place to ambush from (1 Sam. 13:6)
8. a figure of wickedness (cf. Ps. 7:14-15; 40:2; 88:6)
9. a euphemism of death/grave (cf. Ps. 28:1; 30:3; 88:5-6; 143:7; Prov. 28:16; Isa. 14:19; 38:18; Ezek. 26:20; 32:25,29,30
